About Us

Ari Clare and Alex Wheeler decided to create House Boi in summer of 2007 to fill a niche in the San Diego marketplace. A unique retail concept integrating contemporary furniture and home accents with hip men’s clothing and accessories; thus House Boi. After hearing friends and neighbors complain of  lack of unique home accents, terrible wait times and poor customer service they immediately saw an opportunity to create a pop and pop store with a unique product line not found anywhere else. House Boi is owned and operated by Alex and Ari to ensure quality control and a wonderful personalized shopping experience.

Ari Clare brings his 17 years of retail experience where he served in such capacities as General manager and district manager of several national and local home furnishings, retail and interior design companies. Through these past ventures, Ari  brings to House Boi an understanding of all aspects of the business from the eye of buying merchandise to the delivery experience in the home. Most recently, Ari owned a Phoenix, Arizona based interior design firm called The Palmcroft Design Group for which he received tremendous television, magazine and newspaper recognition for his creative style.

Alex Wheeler, Ari’s business and life partner, adds a wonderful component of salesmanship, genuine character and an understanding of the business on which House Boi was created. His 20 year background with a major financial institution has allowed Alex to bring tremendous knowledge and experience in technologies to assist with House Boi’s web site, point of sale systems and the soon to launch e-commerce option to the company web site. Alex’s desire to branch out beyond the cubicle of corporate America allows him to bring a fresh and enthusiastic approach to House Boi.

Alex and Ari are so excited to be a part of the San Diego and North Park / Hillcrest Communities and  will unveil House Boi  late summer 2007.
